Stuff I Love: Little Bits of Green
Lately, I've been favoriting a ton of jewelry on Etsy, which is funny because, on the average day, I wear my engagement ring and wedding band and that's it. On days when I remember, I'll put in the sapphire and diamond studs my husband got me for the anniversary of our first date. They're my most beloved earrings, simple, classic, and sapphire...which makes it even more amusing that the majority of jewelry I've been hearting has been emerald.
I guess there is just something about that deep green stone that's so damn mysterious. I have to love it, even when it's not my favorite. It's just too alluring, the way it immediately reminds me of the green fields outside of Copenhagen, the Carolina mountains in spring, and a million other far-off places. It's a stone that makes you want to run away to, or at least daydream about, a place that's magical. Here are a few of those pieces, for you to gaze into and think travelling thoughts.

Stuff I Love: Good Penmanship
One of my friends told me recently that there is a school district in Indiana that is replacing the time spent in third grade classes teaching cursive with teaching keyboarding. I didn't believe it was true, but I found the article here about that particular school district and another in USAToday about whether cursive is worth teaching anymore.
Well, I personally love penmanship. I've always loved writing in cursive, and definitely consider it an art form that should not be lost, so here are a few things that really show how beautiful it can be.
The above is handwritten custom calligraphy from DesignsbyRobynLove, who does beautiful work for wedding envelopes and probably whatever else you need.
Written in beautiful script in the world's most romantic language! This necklace and host of others available from Piano Bench Designs. You can even get one that says 'crap' in cursive.
Finally, practice your own cursive with this handwriting book from Every Eskimo. I have to admit i'm have tempted to buy it myself, but I think the students in Indiana could probably use it more than I.

Treasury Tuesday (On Tuesday!): A Little Gray...
I love the color gray. I do not think it is a dreary color at all, but smooth and creamy and cool. I think it goes with anything and can make nearly every other color pop and, done right, it can really pop itself. It feels metallic without being shiny, industrial without being hard...it's really just the perfect middleground for just about anything. So, of course, I built a treasury around it (and on a Tuesday for once).
White, black, grey....can all be incredibly bright in the right circumstances.
